| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Steve Atkinson, who is retiring from the Office of the |
|---|
| 4 | 4 | | Comptroller of Public Accounts after 25 years of exceptional |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | service; and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Atkinson joined the State Property Tax Board |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | in 1990; a year later the board merged with the comptroller's |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | office, and he has served with distinction in the State Property |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Tax Assistance Division; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Throughout his career, he has been known for his |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | willingness to help others achieve their goals and the goals of |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | the division, and in 2009, he became a supervisor of the newly |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | established Methods and Assistance Program; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, A talented and resourceful individual, Mr. Atkinson |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | has handled his far-reaching responsibilities with notable |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | efficiency and dedication; his commitment to his teammates, his |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | section, and his division has served as an example to many; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Steve Atkinson has been a loyal employee who is |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | respected and admired by his colleagues, and his presence at the |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | comptroller's office will be greatly missed; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Legislature, hereby commend Steve Atkinson on his many |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | contributions to the Office of the Comptroller of Public Accounts |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | and extend to him best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. |
