SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 1020
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Steve Atkinson, who is retiring from the Office of the
Comptroller of Public Accounts after 25 years of exceptional
service; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Atkinson joined the State Property Tax Board
in 1990; a year later the board merged with the comptroller's
office, and he has served with distinction in the State Property
Tax Assistance Division; and
WHEREAS, Throughout his career, he has been known for his
willingness to help others achieve their goals and the goals of
the division, and in 2009, he became a supervisor of the newly
established Methods and Assistance Program; and
WHEREAS, A talented and resourceful individual, Mr. Atkinson
has handled his far-reaching responsibilities with notable
efficiency and dedication; his commitment to his teammates, his
section, and his division has served as an example to many; and
WHEREAS, Steve Atkinson has been a loyal employee who is
respected and admired by his colleagues, and his presence at the
comptroller's office will be greatly missed; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th
Legislature, hereby commend Steve Atkinson on his many
contributions to the Office of the Comptroller of Public Accounts
and extend to him best wishes for the future; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
