| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, Many years ago, Consuella and Edmund Broussard |

| 3 | 3 | | made a lifetime commitment to each other, and their mutual trust |

| 4 | 4 | | has been amply rewarded, for they are now celebrating their 60th |

| 5 | 5 | | wedding anniversary on June 5, 2015; and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Consuella and Edmund met as students at Xavier |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | University in New Orleans, and they were married in Port Arthur |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | on June 5, 1955; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, The world has changed considerably during the |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | years of their marriage, yet they have continued to cherish the |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | traditional values that helped strengthen their bond long ago; |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | they share a life of deep spiritual devotion, and their history of |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | leadership at their local parish spans more than five decades; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Broussard had successful careers |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | with the Houston Independent School District, where they served |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | for more than 40 years; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, The devoted couple has been blessed with a |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | wonderful family, and they are beloved and respected by their |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | four children and six grandchildren; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, The strong relationship that Consuella and Edmund |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | share is truly an inspiration to all who know them; now, |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | therefore, be it |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Legislature, hereby extend congratulations to Mr. and |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Mrs. Edmund Broussard on their 60th wedding anniversary; and, be |
