SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 1040
WHEREAS, Many years ago, Consuella and Edmund Broussard
made a lifetime commitment to each other, and their mutual trust
has been amply rewarded, for they are now celebrating their 60th
wedding anniversary on June 5, 2015; and
WHEREAS, Consuella and Edmund met as students at Xavier
University in New Orleans, and they were married in Port Arthur
on June 5, 1955; and
WHEREAS, The world has changed considerably during the
years of their marriage, yet they have continued to cherish the
traditional values that helped strengthen their bond long ago;
they share a life of deep spiritual devotion, and their history of
leadership at their local parish spans more than five decades; and
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Broussard had successful careers
with the Houston Independent School District, where they served
for more than 40 years; and
WHEREAS, The devoted couple has been blessed with a
wonderful family, and they are beloved and respected by their
four children and six grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, The strong relationship that Consuella and Edmund
share is truly an inspiration to all who know them; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th
Legislature, hereby extend congratulations to Mr. and
Mrs. Edmund Broussard on their 60th wedding anniversary; and, be
it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
them as a memento of this special day.
