| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize the Pregnancy Resource Centers in this state, which |

| 4 | 4 | | offer counseling and other services to women facing unexpected |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | pregnancy; and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Pregnancy Resource Centers offer free or low-cost |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | pregnancy tests and sonograms, emotional support, and education |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | and work in conjunction with maternity homes and adoption centers |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | to provide options for pregnant women; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Dedicated to meeting both the immediate and the |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | long-term needs of their clients, the centers offer a variety of |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | classes to ensure that potential mothers-to-be have important |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | life skills that help women of all ages and backgrounds realize |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | their full potential as mothers and as productive members of |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | society; courses include parenting, budget keeping, and in some |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | locations, English as a Second Language; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Pregnancy Resource Centers play a unique role in |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Texas and around the country; the centers provide a place of |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | contemplation for women considering the possibility of |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | motherhood and emphasize the need for education and mindful |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | decision making; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | 84th Legislature, hereby recognize the founders, staff, and |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | volunteers of Pregnancy Resource Centers across the state for the |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | services they provide to women facing unexpected pregnancy and |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | welcome those who are visiting the Capitol on February 23, 2015; |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | and, be it further |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | them as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate. |
