                            SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 119
 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
 recognize the Pregnancy Resource Centers in this state, which
 offer counseling and other services to women facing unexpected
 pregnancy; and
 WHEREAS, Pregnancy Resource Centers offer free or low-cost
 pregnancy tests and sonograms, emotional support, and education
 and work in conjunction with maternity homes and adoption centers
 to provide options for pregnant women; and
 WHEREAS, Dedicated to meeting both the immediate and the
 long-term needs of their clients, the centers offer a variety of
 classes to ensure that potential mothers-to-be have important
 life skills that help women of all ages and backgrounds realize
 their full potential as mothers and as productive members of
 society; courses include parenting, budget keeping, and in some
 locations, English as a Second Language; and
 WHEREAS, Pregnancy Resource Centers play a unique role in
 Texas and around the country; the centers provide a place of
 contemplation for women considering the possibility of
 motherhood and emphasize the need for education and mindful
 decision making; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
 84th Legislature, hereby recognize the founders, staff, and
 volunteers of Pregnancy Resource Centers across the state for the
 services they provide to women facing unexpected pregnancy and
 welcome those who are visiting the Capitol on February 23, 2015;
 and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
 them as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
