| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Dr. David Greer for his many years of exceptional service |
|---|
| 4 | 4 | | to the people of Henrietta as a physician and community leader; and |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Greer is a graduate of The University of Texas |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | Medical Branch at Galveston and is board certified by the |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | American Board of Family Medicine; in becoming a doctor, he |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | followed in the footsteps of his grandfather, with whom he had |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | made countless house calls in and around Henrietta as a young |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | boy; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, After graduating from medical school in 1964, |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | Dr. Greer served in the United States Army Medical Corps at |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | veterans' hospitals in San Francisco and Germany before being |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | transferred to Vietnam; after his military service, he practiced |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | for a time in Nocona before returning to Henrietta and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | establishing his family practice there in 1972; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Over the course of his distinguished 50-year |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | career, Dr. Greer has made many contributions to his profession |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | and his community; he has chaired the Legislative Committee of |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | the Texas Academy of Family Physicians and was named the |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | academy's Physician of the Year in 2004; in 2006, he received the |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Ashbel Smith Distinguished Alumnus Award from The University of |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Texas Medical Branch at Galveston; and |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Greer is a highly respected physician, and his |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | professional skill and caring manner have made a difference in the |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | lives of multiple generations of Clay County citizens; he is truly |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | deserving of special recognition for his outstanding commitment to |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | his patients and his profession; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | Legislature, hereby commend Dr. David Greer on his exceptional |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | 50-year career as a physician and his dedicated service to the |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | people of Henrietta and our state and extend to him best wishes |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | for continued success in all his endeavors; and, be it further |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | him as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate. |
