                            SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 15
 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
 recognize Dr. David Greer for his many years of exceptional service
 to the people of Henrietta as a physician and community leader; and
 WHEREAS, Dr. Greer is a graduate of The University of Texas
 Medical Branch at Galveston and is board certified by the
 American Board of Family Medicine; in becoming a doctor, he
 followed in the footsteps of his grandfather, with whom he had
 made countless house calls in and around Henrietta as a young
 boy; and
 WHEREAS, After graduating from medical school in 1964,
 Dr. Greer served in the United States Army Medical Corps at
 veterans' hospitals in San Francisco and Germany before being
 transferred to Vietnam; after his military service, he practiced
 for a time in Nocona before returning to Henrietta and
 establishing his family practice there in 1972; and
 WHEREAS, Over the course of his distinguished 50-year
 career, Dr. Greer has made many contributions to his profession
 and his community; he has chaired the Legislative Committee of
 the Texas Academy of Family Physicians and was named the
 academy's Physician of the Year in 2004; in 2006, he received the
 Ashbel Smith Distinguished Alumnus Award from The University of
 Texas Medical Branch at Galveston; and
 WHEREAS, Dr. Greer is a highly respected physician, and his
 professional skill and caring manner have made a difference in the
 lives of multiple generations of Clay County citizens; he is truly
 deserving of special recognition for his outstanding commitment to
 his patients and his profession; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th
 Legislature, hereby commend Dr. David Greer on his exceptional
 50-year career as a physician and his dedicated service to the
 people of Henrietta and our state and extend to him best wishes
 for continued success in all his endeavors; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
 him as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
