SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 156 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize the members and graduates of Leadership Montague County on the occasion of their visit to the State Capitol, which is taking place February 17 and 18, 2015; and WHEREAS, Leadership Montague County was founded in 2011 to cultivate leadership qualities among citizens and to make the county a better place to live, learn, work, and recreate; and WHEREAS, Led by charter member and retired Montague County Judge Tommie Sappington and current Montague County Judge Rick Lewis, this nonprofit organization provides an interactive learning program and is designed to enhance the quality of life in the Montague County area; it inspires a spirit of community and provides participants with networking opportunities across a large rural area and throughout the state; and WHEREAS, Graduates of the program will join the ranks of other leadership groups in Texas that enhance the entrepreneurial, cultural, and governmental capacities of our state by enabling members to exchange insights with experienced leaders in the public and private sectors; the members of the Leadership Montague County class of 2014 and 2015 are truly deserving of recognition on their first visit to Austin; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th Legislature, hereby commend Leadership Montague County for its strong commitment to community service and extend to its members a warm welcome to the State Capitol; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the organization as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
