| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Lucy E. Elizardi, who is retiring in May of 2015 from |
|---|
| 4 | 4 | | the Harlingen Consolidated Independent School District after a |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | distinguished 40-year career as an educator; and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Lucy Elizardi is a graduate of Pan American |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | University; she began her career in education as a |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | paraprofessional in Brownsville before joining the public school |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | system in Harlingen; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Over the course of her career in the district, she |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | has taught at Jefferson Elementary School, Sam Houston |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | Elementary School, and Coakley Middle School, where she has |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | served for 21 years; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Her students have greatly benefited from her |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | skillful teaching methods, her sincere concern for the |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | individual, and her wise counsel and encouragement; dedicated |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | and resourceful, she has instilled in her students an |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | appreciation for challenge and a love of learning; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, An exemplary educator, she is respected and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | admired by her students and her colleagues, and her presence in |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | the Harlingen Consolidated Independent School District will be |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | greatly missed; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Legislature, hereby commend Lucy E. Elizardi on her commitment to |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | her students and her profession and extend to her best wishes for |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | continued success in all her endeavors; and, be it further |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | her as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate. |
