| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The National Aeronautics and Space Administration |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | and the Johnson Space Center have an outstanding record of |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | intrepid space exploration and scientific discovery, and they |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | provide Texans and people around the world with opportunities to |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | learn about the planet Earth and space; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Every other year, the Johnson Space Center and its |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | industry partners bring Space Day to the Texas Capitol; this |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | enjoyable and informative event offers interactive exhibits, |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | knowledgeable speakers, and fascinating presentations; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, More than 1,000 students from all grade levels |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | come together on Space Day to collaborate and learn more about |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | the science of space; programs like Space Day inspire many |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | students to focus their studies on science, mathematics, and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | technology and to plan futures as our next generation of |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | scientific leaders; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, The directors and staff at NASA and the Johnson |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Space Center continue to drive innovation in the aerospace and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | technical industries in the Lone Star State and to inspire |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | citizens everywhere to reach for the stars; they are indeed |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | worthy of recognition for their invaluable contributions to our |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | state and country; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Legislature, hereby commend the work of the National Aeronautics |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | and Space Administration and the Johnson Space Center and extend |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | best wishes to all for a rewarding Space Day at the State Capitol; |
