| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize the members of the Dallas Regional Chamber who are |

| 4 | 4 | | gathering at the Capitol on March 4, 2015, to celebrate Dallas |

| 5 | 5 | | Regional Chamber Day; and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Since its incorporation in 1856, Dallas has grown |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | to become a leading business center, and by 2012, it was home to |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | nine Fortune 500 companies; the city's diverse industries |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | include building design and construction, information technology |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | services, telecommunications, and world-renowned health care |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | systems; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, The Dallas Regional Chamber has played a key |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | leadership role in the establishment of many important regional |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | assets, and the prosperity enjoyed by Dallas-area businesses and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | residents today is due in no small part to the success of the |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | chamber's efforts over the past 100 years; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, The Dallas Regional Chamber works collaboratively |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | to promote economic development, improve public education, and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | advocate for regional public policies that foster and sustain |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | economic prosperity and a strong business climate for the |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | region; and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | WHEREAS, Residents of Dallas enjoy an exceptional quality |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | of life, with access to thriving cultural arts facilities, unique |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | urban green spaces, famed sporting-event locations, premier |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | concert arenas, and a number of outdoor recreation options; |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Dallas has been ranked among the best cities for new college |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | graduates, and it remains among the most affordable of the |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | nation's largest cities; and |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | WHEREAS, The Dallas Regional Chamber has contributed |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | greatly to the growth and prosperity of the Lone Star State, and |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | its members can indeed be proud of their many achievements as |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | they look to the future; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | Legislature, hereby join the Dallas delegation in celebrating |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | March 4, 2015, as Dallas Regional Chamber Day at the State |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | Capitol and extend best wishes to all for a memorable visit to |

| 37 | 37 | | Austin; and, be it further |
