SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 302
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize the members of the Dallas Regional Chamber who are
gathering at the Capitol on March 4, 2015, to celebrate Dallas
Regional Chamber Day; and
WHEREAS, Since its incorporation in 1856, Dallas has grown
to become a leading business center, and by 2012, it was home to
nine Fortune 500 companies; the city's diverse industries
include building design and construction, information technology
services, telecommunications, and world-renowned health care
systems; and
WHEREAS, The Dallas Regional Chamber has played a key
leadership role in the establishment of many important regional
assets, and the prosperity enjoyed by Dallas-area businesses and
residents today is due in no small part to the success of the
chamber's efforts over the past 100 years; and
WHEREAS, The Dallas Regional Chamber works collaboratively
to promote economic development, improve public education, and
advocate for regional public policies that foster and sustain
economic prosperity and a strong business climate for the
region; and
WHEREAS, Residents of Dallas enjoy an exceptional quality
of life, with access to thriving cultural arts facilities, unique
urban green spaces, famed sporting-event locations, premier
concert arenas, and a number of outdoor recreation options;
Dallas has been ranked among the best cities for new college
graduates, and it remains among the most affordable of the
nation's largest cities; and
WHEREAS, The Dallas Regional Chamber has contributed
greatly to the growth and prosperity of the Lone Star State, and
its members can indeed be proud of their many achievements as
they look to the future; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th
Legislature, hereby join the Dallas delegation in celebrating
March 4, 2015, as Dallas Regional Chamber Day at the State
Capitol and extend best wishes to all for a memorable visit to
Austin; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared in
honor of this special day.
