| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Captain Dana Lechner, who has been selected as the 2015 |

| 4 | 4 | | Firefighter of the Year by the Corpus Christi Fire Department; |

| 5 | 5 | | and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Captain Lechner is assigned to Engine 3 at the |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | Morgan Avenue Rescue Station; as a member of the Rescue Squad, he |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | responds to all structure fires and specialty rescue calls |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | throughout the city; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, He is an exemplary public servant who is respected |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | and admired throughout the community; he exhibits great |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | leadership skills and is dedicated to his fellow firefighters and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | to his work on behalf of the citizens of Corpus Christi; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, As Firefighter of the Year, Captain Lechner |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | serves as an example to aspiring young firefighters, and he will |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | represent the Corpus Christi Fire Department at city events |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | throughout the year; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Firefighters are among a community's most |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | valuable public servants; becoming a firefighter requires |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | physical stamina, intelligence, self-discipline, and courage, |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | and to be singled out as a city's top firefighter is indeed an |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | honor; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | 84th Legislature, hereby commend Captain Dana Lechner on his |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | exemplary service to the City of Corpus Christi and congratulate |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | him on being named the 2015 Firefighter of the Year; and, be |

| 27 | 27 | | it further |

| 28 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
