SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 31
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Captain Dana Lechner, who has been selected as the 2015
Firefighter of the Year by the Corpus Christi Fire Department;
and
WHEREAS, Captain Lechner is assigned to Engine 3 at the
Morgan Avenue Rescue Station; as a member of the Rescue Squad, he
responds to all structure fires and specialty rescue calls
throughout the city; and
WHEREAS, He is an exemplary public servant who is respected
and admired throughout the community; he exhibits great
leadership skills and is dedicated to his fellow firefighters and
to his work on behalf of the citizens of Corpus Christi; and
WHEREAS, As Firefighter of the Year, Captain Lechner
serves as an example to aspiring young firefighters, and he will
represent the Corpus Christi Fire Department at city events
throughout the year; and
WHEREAS, Firefighters are among a community's most
valuable public servants; becoming a firefighter requires
physical stamina, intelligence, self-discipline, and courage,
and to be singled out as a city's top firefighter is indeed an
honor; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
84th Legislature, hereby commend Captain Dana Lechner on his
exemplary service to the City of Corpus Christi and congratulate
him on being named the 2015 Firefighter of the Year; and, be
it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
