| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to pay |

| 3 | 3 | | tribute to Eddie Lee Walker on the grand occasion of her 100th |

| 4 | 4 | | birthday; and |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Eddie Lee Walker was born April 16, 1915, in Mexia, |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | Texas, to Eddie and Cora Lee Palmer Sneed; she was married to the |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | late J. C. Jefferson, and they were blessed with four children; she |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | later married J. R. Walker and was blessed with her fifth child; |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Mr. and Mrs. Walker shared 57 years together, until his death in |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | 2002; today, Mrs. Walker is the proud matriarch of a six-generation |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | family that includes five great-great-great-grandchildren; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, A beloved and respected member of the community, |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Mrs. Walker has witnessed many historic events during her |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | lifetime and can offer fascinating accounts about the events of |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | days gone by; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, She is noted for living each day to the fullest, |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | and her family and friends truly appreciate the joy she has |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | brought into their lives; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, In celebration of Mrs. Walker's birthday, her |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | loved ones are gathering on April 18, 2015, at New Birth Baptist |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Church in Dallas to share in this milestone in her life; now, |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | therefore, be it |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Legislature, hereby recognize Eddie Lee Walker as a treasured |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | citizen of this state and extend to her congratulations on the |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | occasion of her 100th birthday; and, be it further |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
