SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 330 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to pay tribute to Eddie Lee Walker on the grand occasion of her 100th birthday; and WHEREAS, Eddie Lee Walker was born April 16, 1915, in Mexia, Texas, to Eddie and Cora Lee Palmer Sneed; she was married to the late J. C. Jefferson, and they were blessed with four children; she later married J. R. Walker and was blessed with her fifth child; Mr. and Mrs. Walker shared 57 years together, until his death in 2002; today, Mrs. Walker is the proud matriarch of a six-generation family that includes five great-great-great-grandchildren; and WHEREAS, A beloved and respected member of the community, Mrs. Walker has witnessed many historic events during her lifetime and can offer fascinating accounts about the events of days gone by; and WHEREAS, She is noted for living each day to the fullest, and her family and friends truly appreciate the joy she has brought into their lives; and WHEREAS, In celebration of Mrs. Walker's birthday, her loved ones are gathering on April 18, 2015, at New Birth Baptist Church in Dallas to share in this milestone in her life; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th Legislature, hereby recognize Eddie Lee Walker as a treasured citizen of this state and extend to her congratulations on the occasion of her 100th birthday; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her as a memento of this special day.
