| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Saint Joseph Catholic School in Bryan on the occasion |

| 4 | 4 | | of its 120th anniversary, which is being celebrated January 28, |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | 2015; and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Saint Joseph Catholic School opened its doors in |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | the fall of 1894; it has grown from a single school building to an |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | entire school system on three campuses that educates children |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | from eight weeks old through high school; it is the only Catholic |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | school in the state to serve such a wide range of ages in its |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | students; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, The school is under the leadership of Reverend |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Monsignor John McCaffrey, who instituted a three-tiered vision |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | under which the school encourages excellence in faith formation, |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | education, and athletics; its more than 350 students are served |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | by a dedicated faculty and staff; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, The celebration of the school's 120th anniversary |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | is being held in conjunction with National Catholic Schools Week, |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | which is being observed January 25 through 31, 2015; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Saint Joseph Catholic School has been an important |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | part of the Bryan community for 120 years, and this exceptional |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | educational institution is truly worthy of legislative recognition |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | for its long history of service; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Legislature, hereby commend the students, faculty, and staff of |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Saint Joseph Catholic School on their commitment to education and |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | extend to them best wishes for a memorable 120th anniversary |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | celebration; and, be it further |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
