1	1	SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 440
2	2	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
3	3	recognize the Palmview High School Mariachi Los Lobos band, which
4	4	was recently named Class 6A state mariachi champion; and
5	5	WHEREAS, The state mariachi competition was held at the
6	6	Southwest Performing Arts Center in San Antonio and included a
7	7	large number of very accomplished ensembles; and
8	8	WHEREAS, The members of Mariachi Los Lobos have
9	9	demonstrated great talent and perseverance throughout the school
10	10	year, and these young musicians can take great pride in their
11	11	outstanding performance; and
12	12	WHEREAS, Under the superior leadership and expertise of
13	13	their director, Myra Garcia, band members have developed
14	14	exceptional musicianship, teamwork, and discipline; and
15	15	WHEREAS, Palmview High School and the City of Palmview are
16	16	proud of the members of Mariachi Los Lobos for their commitment
17	17	and discipline, their impressive skills, and their enthusiasm
18	18	and spirit; now, therefore, be it
19	19	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th
20	20	Legislature, hereby commend the members of the Palmview High
21	21	School Mariachi Los Lobos band for their hard work and dedication
22	22	and congratulate them on becoming champions in the Class 6A state
23	23	mariachi competition; and, be it further
24	24	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
25	25	the band as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
