SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 440
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize the Palmview High School Mariachi Los Lobos band, which
was recently named Class 6A state mariachi champion; and
WHEREAS, The state mariachi competition was held at the
Southwest Performing Arts Center in San Antonio and included a
large number of very accomplished ensembles; and
WHEREAS, The members of Mariachi Los Lobos have
demonstrated great talent and perseverance throughout the school
year, and these young musicians can take great pride in their
outstanding performance; and
WHEREAS, Under the superior leadership and expertise of
their director, Myra Garcia, band members have developed
exceptional musicianship, teamwork, and discipline; and
WHEREAS, Palmview High School and the City of Palmview are
proud of the members of Mariachi Los Lobos for their commitment
and discipline, their impressive skills, and their enthusiasm
and spirit; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th
Legislature, hereby commend the members of the Palmview High
School Mariachi Los Lobos band for their hard work and dedication
and congratulate them on becoming champions in the Class 6A state
mariachi competition; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
the band as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
