| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Esteban Toledo, who has been named the 2015 Texas |

| 4 | 4 | | Legend for the Eddie Lucio Scholarship Fund; and |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Esteban Toledo is a celebrated professional |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | golfer who began playing golf while serving as a young staff |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | member at a driving range in his hometown of Mexicali; when |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | Esteban was in his early 20s, a California businessman sponsored |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | him for United States citizenship and paid for him to pursue a |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | professional golfing career; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, He has found incredible success on the |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | professional circuit and has in turn helped shape the futures of |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | aspiring golfers in his native country; his charitable efforts |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | recently enabled six talented athletes to join the qualifying |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | tournament for the Professional Golfers' Association Tour; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, In addition to his efforts to help aspiring |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | golfers, Mr. Toledo established the Esteban Toledo Family |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Foundation, an organization focused on helping families and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | children in poverty by providing them with food, clothing, |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | shelter, and spiritual guidance; and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Esteban Toledo is a respected and admired |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | athlete, and it is indeed fitting that he be honored for his |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | outstanding career in professional sports and for his many |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | humanitarian contributions to people in need and to young |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | athletes in Mexico; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Legislature, hereby commend Esteban Toledo for his numerous |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | charitable endeavors and congratulate him on being named the 2015 |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | Texas Legend for the Eddie Lucio Scholarship Fund; and, be it further |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |

| 31 | 31 | | him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. |
