SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 480
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to pay
tribute to Daisy L. Jones on the grand occasion of her 100th
birthday; and
WHEREAS, A woman of charm and grace, Daisy Jones is well
known for her kindness and her generosity of spirit, and she is a
beloved member of the Calvert community; and
WHEREAS, She was born April 16, 1915, and she has lived
through times and experienced events that many people only know
about from history books; there is much to be learned from the
wisdom she has gained over the years; and
WHEREAS, Daisy has been blessed with a wonderful family,
and her five children, 16 grandchildren, and numerous
great-grandchildren have been a source of immense pride and joy
for her; and
WHEREAS, She is noted for her warmth, her wit, and her wise
counsel, and she inspires those around her with her enthusiasm
for living each day to the fullest; she has enjoyed sewing and
knitting and serving as secretary of Providence Baptist Church;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th
Legislature, hereby pay tribute to Daisy L. Jones and extend to
her best wishes for a memorable 100th birthday; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her
as a memento of this milestone in her life.
