| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, Members of the Ennis Chamber of Commerce are |

| 3 | 3 | | visiting the State Capitol on April 2, 2015, and this occasion |

| 4 | 4 | | presents a welcome opportunity to commend them for their support |

| 5 | 5 | | of the city of Ennis; and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Known as the Bluebonnet City, Ennis grew from a |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | stop on the Houston and Texas Central Railway line into a vibrant |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | modern city with myriad opportunities for economic development, |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | civic involvement, and personal and family achievement; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, The city's dynamic business leaders, strong |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | economy, and proximity to the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex have |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | drawn a variety of notable businesses and industries, and the |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | chamber's emphasis on commercial growth and education have |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | further contributed to prosperity in the area; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Amid plentiful contemporary amenities, Ennis |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | retains its small-town charm, highlighted by its historic |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | downtown business district, and it is currently participating in |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | the Texas Main Street Program; each year, the town hosts such |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | popular events as the Polka Festival, a celebration of the city's |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Czech heritage, and the Bluebonnet Trails Festival; it is also |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | home to a number of arts and entertainment venues, and nearby |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Lake Bardwell attracts outdoor recreation enthusiasts, while |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | fans of motor sports enjoy events at the Texas Motorplex |

| 24 | 24 | | throughout the year; and |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | WHEREAS, Working for more than a century to enhance the |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | city's well-being, the Ennis Chamber of Commerce has greatly |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | benefited its community, and everyone associated with the |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | organization merits the highest praise for their civic |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | engagement; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | Legislature, hereby welcome the members of the Ennis Chamber of |

| 32 | 32 | | Commerce to the State Capitol and extend to them best wishes for |

| 33 | 33 | | an informative and enjoyable visit; and, be it further |
