                            SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 481
 WHEREAS, Members of the Ennis Chamber of Commerce are
 visiting the State Capitol on April 2, 2015, and this occasion
 presents a welcome opportunity to commend them for their support
 of the city of Ennis; and
 WHEREAS, Known as the Bluebonnet City, Ennis grew from a
 stop on the Houston and Texas Central Railway line into a vibrant
 modern city with myriad opportunities for economic development,
 civic involvement, and personal and family achievement; and
 WHEREAS, The city's dynamic business leaders, strong
 economy, and proximity to the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex have
 drawn a variety of notable businesses and industries, and the
 chamber's emphasis on commercial growth and education have
 further contributed to prosperity in the area; and
 WHEREAS, Amid plentiful contemporary amenities, Ennis
 retains its small-town charm, highlighted by its historic
 downtown business district, and it is currently participating in
 the Texas Main Street Program; each year, the town hosts such
 popular events as the Polka Festival, a celebration of the city's
 Czech heritage, and the Bluebonnet Trails Festival; it is also
 home to a number of arts and entertainment venues, and nearby
 Lake Bardwell attracts outdoor recreation enthusiasts, while
 fans of motor sports enjoy events at the Texas Motorplex
 throughout the year; and
 WHEREAS, Working for more than a century to enhance the
 city's well-being, the Ennis Chamber of Commerce has greatly
 benefited its community, and everyone associated with the
 organization merits the highest praise for their civic
 engagement; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th
 Legislature, hereby welcome the members of the Ennis Chamber of
 Commerce to the State Capitol and extend to them best wishes for
 an informative and enjoyable visit; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
 the chamber as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
