| 5 | 5 | | Federation of Republican Women Legislative Day; and |

| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, The Texas Federation of Republican Women was |

| 7 | 7 | | established in 1955 to make it possible for women to have an |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | influence on the way all levels of government manage such vital |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | issues as health, crime, education, taxes, and financial |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | security; and |

| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, Representing Senate District 5 at the legislative |

| 12 | 12 | | day are Republican Women of Brazos Valley, Grimes County |

| 13 | 13 | | Republican Women, Robertson County Republican Women, Walker |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | County Republican Women, Williamson County Republican Women, |

| 15 | 15 | | Republican Women of Milam County, Georgetown Area Republican |

| 16 | 16 | | Women, and Northwest Austin Republican Women; and |

| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, The members of these outstanding organizations |

| 18 | 18 | | have played a central role in furthering the federation's goals |

| 19 | 19 | | of electing Republicans to office, educating voters, encouraging |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Republican women to run for office, and inspiring broader |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | participation in the political process; and |

| 22 | 22 | | WHEREAS, The women of these clubs have been instrumental in |

| 23 | 23 | | the success of Republican Party candidates in Senate District 5, |

| 24 | 24 | | and it is truly fitting that they receive special recognition for |

| 25 | 25 | | their hard work and dedication; now, therefore, be it |

| 26 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th |

| 27 | 27 | | Legislature, hereby commend the members of the Republican |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | women's clubs in Senate District 5 on their contributions to the |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | Republican Party of Texas and extend to them best wishes for an |

| 30 | 30 | | enjoyable and productive visit to Austin on Texas Federation of |
