SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 489
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
welcome the members of the Republican women's clubs from Senate
District 5 who are visiting the Capitol on the occasion of Texas
Federation of Republican Women Legislative Day; and
WHEREAS, The Texas Federation of Republican Women was
established in 1955 to make it possible for women to have an
influence on the way all levels of government manage such vital
issues as health, crime, education, taxes, and financial
security; and
WHEREAS, Representing Senate District 5 at the legislative
day are Republican Women of Brazos Valley, Grimes County
Republican Women, Robertson County Republican Women, Walker
County Republican Women, Williamson County Republican Women,
Republican Women of Milam County, Georgetown Area Republican
Women, and Northwest Austin Republican Women; and
WHEREAS, The members of these outstanding organizations
have played a central role in furthering the federation's goals
of electing Republicans to office, educating voters, encouraging
Republican women to run for office, and inspiring broader
participation in the political process; and
WHEREAS, The women of these clubs have been instrumental in
the success of Republican Party candidates in Senate District 5,
and it is truly fitting that they receive special recognition for
their hard work and dedication; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th
Legislature, hereby commend the members of the Republican
women's clubs in Senate District 5 on their contributions to the
Republican Party of Texas and extend to them best wishes for an
enjoyable and productive visit to Austin on Texas Federation of
Republican Women Legislative Day; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
them as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
