SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 518
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to welcome
the members of the Cleburne Chamber of Commerce and the Cleburne
Tuesday Forum who are visiting the Capitol on April 7, 2015; and
WHEREAS, The Cleburne Chamber of Commerce was chartered on
February 17, 1919; at its first meeting, the chamber's 84 members
pledged to give back to the community in which they worked and
raised their families; since its inception, the organization has
played an important role in promoting the area's industrial and
agricultural efforts and has been an outspoken advocate for the
Chisholm Trail Highway 121 project; and
WHEREAS, The Cleburne Tuesday Forum is a nonprofit
association that provides a platform for public discussion of the
issues affecting Johnson County; this outstanding 40-year-old
organization is composed of business and professional men and
women who meet each month to share information and exchange
points of view; and
WHEREAS, Through their vision and leadership, the members
of these exceptional organizations have played an important role
in Cleburne's growth and vitality, and through their initiatives
and hard work, they have helped to create a better-informed and
more engaged citizenry; and
WHEREAS, The forward-thinking men and women of these
organizations are working diligently to enhance their community,
and due to their enduring efforts, Cleburne faces a bright and
impressive future; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th
Legislature, hereby commend the members of the Cleburne Chamber
of Commerce and the Cleburne Tuesday Forum on their many
contributions to their community and extend to them best wishes
for a productive visit to the Capitol; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
these organizations as an expression of esteem from the Texas
Senate.
