| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The East Austin College Prep Day at the Capitol is |

| 6 | 6 | | hosted by the Senator Gregory Luna Legislative Scholars and |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | Fellows Program to enable participants to learn about the |

| 8 | 8 | | legislative process and the history of the State of Texas; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, The vision of East Austin College Prep is to serve |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | as a model school with a rigorous curriculum that successfully |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | prepares all students, regardless of economic background, for |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | graduation and success in college and career, while also |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | instilling a commitment to community service; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, During their visit to the Capitol, East Austin |

| 15 | 15 | | College Prep students will engage in a mock senate and a tour of |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | the Capitol, while Senate staff members guide them through the |
|---|
