SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 531
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Joe B. Allen, who has been named the recipient of the
Impact Award by the West Houston Association; and
WHEREAS, This prestigious award honors individuals for
their lifetime work and significant contributions to the growth
and development of Greater West Houston; and
WHEREAS, Joe B. Allen has had a profound impact on the
commercial and residential development of the area and is noted
for his work on the development of the critical elements of
infrastructure necessary to support and expand quality growth;
and
WHEREAS, Throughout his career as an attorney and a
lobbyist, Mr. Allen has played a significant role in the passage
of legislation that has affected development issues; he has been
instrumental in the creation of a wide range of regulations
involving special districts, and he played a vital role in the
reorganization of the Texas Department of Water Resources into
the Water Development Board and the Texas Water Commission; and
WHEREAS, He has worked with public and private entities to
make West Houston a better place in which to live and do business,
and it is truly fitting that he receive special recognition for
his leadership and vision; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th
Legislature, hereby commend Joe B. Allen on his many contributions
to the growth and prosperity of Houston and our state and extend
to him congratulations on earning the West Houston Association
Impact Award; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
