                            SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 540
 In Memory
 of
 Jorge Alfonso Moreno
 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the
 citizens of Brownsville in mourning the loss of Jorge Alfonso
 Moreno, who died November 12, 2014, at the age of 76; and
 WHEREAS, George Moreno was born on October 22, 1938, and
 was a beloved resident of the Rio Grande Valley; he enriched the
 lives of others through his warmth and vitality and his
 enthusiasm for living each day to the fullest; and
 WHEREAS, A veteran of the United States Army and the
 National Guard, he became a successful entrepreneur who owned and
 operated George's Electronics Mart, Incorporated; he also served
 as a supervisor for the Cameron County Collections Division; and
 WHEREAS, A man of deep spiritual devotion, Mr. Moreno
 attended Saint Mary's Church, and he was active in the community
 as a member of the Knights of Columbus and the West Brownsville
 Lion's Club; he was an avid fisherman and hunter; and
 WHEREAS, He shared a life of love with his wife, Maria de la
 Conception Moreno, and they were blessed with four children and
 four grandchildren who were a source of great pride and joy; and
 WHEREAS, He was a man of integrity and strength who was
 respected and admired by many, and his wisdom, warmth, and valued
 counsel will long be remembered by all who were privileged to
 share in his life; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th
 Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
 family of Jorge Alfonso Moreno; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
 his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
 Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
 memory of Jorge Moreno.
