| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Senior Corporal Charlie Ramirez, who is being honored |
|---|
| 4 | 4 | | for 40 years of service with the Texas Department of Public |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | Safety on April 16, 2015; and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Charlie Ramirez began his career by serving as a |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | coach and a teacher in the Eden Independent School District; |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | during this time, he also served as a reserve deputy sheriff in |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Tom Green County; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, He joined the Texas Department of Public Safety as |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | soon as height restrictions for state officers were lifted in |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | 1975, and he has served departments in El Paso, San Angelo, and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Corpus Christi; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, A distinguished leader in his field, Charlie |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Ramirez holds a master peace officer certification from the Texas |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Commission on Law Enforcement; he was honored with the 1996 |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | National W. H. Hale Memorial Award for his original "Pitch in for |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Safety" presentation; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Charlie Ramirez is an outstanding public servant |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | who has dedicated his life to serving the citizens of Texas, and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | he is indeed deserving of recognition for his years of excellence |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | in the field of public safety; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Legislature, hereby commend Senior Corporal Charlie Ramirez for |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | his many contributions to our state and congratulate him on |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | receiving a Texas Department of Public Safety 40-Year Service |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Award; and, be it further |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
