11 SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 566
22 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
33 recognize the El Paso Chapter of the Military Order of the World
44 Wars on the occasion of the chapter's 40th annual Massing of the
55 Colors, which is taking place on April 11, 2015; and
66 WHEREAS, The Massing of the Colors is a ceremony that dates
77 to 1922 and is held to encourage citizens to rededicate their
88 faith in the flag of the United States of America; and
99 WHEREAS, This patriotic ceremony is an expression of support
1010 for service members past and present who have served under the flag
1111 and fought for this nation's continued freedom; and
1212 WHEREAS, The Massing of the Colors includes color guards
1313 representing all branches of the United States armed forces, all
1414 levels of law enforcement and public safety, and many civic and
1515 patriotic organizations that support those who serve; now,
1616 therefore, be it
1717 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th
1818 Legislature, hereby commend the El Paso Chapter of the Military
1919 Order of the World Wars for their work honoring those who uphold
2020 the values and freedoms of this nation and declare April 11,
2121 2015, as Massing of the Colors Day in Texas; and, be it further
2222 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the
2323 organization as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
