SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 566 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize the El Paso Chapter of the Military Order of the World Wars on the occasion of the chapter's 40th annual Massing of the Colors, which is taking place on April 11, 2015; and WHEREAS, The Massing of the Colors is a ceremony that dates to 1922 and is held to encourage citizens to rededicate their faith in the flag of the United States of America; and WHEREAS, This patriotic ceremony is an expression of support for service members past and present who have served under the flag and fought for this nation's continued freedom; and WHEREAS, The Massing of the Colors includes color guards representing all branches of the United States armed forces, all levels of law enforcement and public safety, and many civic and patriotic organizations that support those who serve; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th Legislature, hereby commend the El Paso Chapter of the Military Order of the World Wars for their work honoring those who uphold the values and freedoms of this nation and declare April 11, 2015, as Massing of the Colors Day in Texas; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the organization as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
