                            SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 577
 In Memory
 of
 Whitney Cotton
 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and
 commemorates the life of Whitney Cotton, who died March 15, 2015,
 at the age of 41; and
 WHEREAS, Whitney Cotton was born on January 2, 1974, in
 Silsbee, to Leola and William Cotton; he graduated from Buna High
 School, where he was a standout athlete in football and
 weightlifting; and
 WHEREAS, He moved to Austin to attend college and to begin
 a career; after working for a time in the computer industry, he
 embarked on a career in real estate, which allowed him to pursue
 his passion for helping others by assisting them in finding homes
 for their families; and
 WHEREAS, A devout Christian who practiced his faith in his
 daily life, Mr. Cotton was a member of Mount Sinai Missionary
 Baptist Church; he was a source of strength to those in need of
 support or shelter, and he strived to provide people with the
 things they needed to succeed in life; and
 WHEREAS, He was a man of courage and compassion who gave
 unselfishly to others, and his wisdom, his generous spirit, and
 his enthusiasm for living each day to the fullest will not be
 forgotten by those who were privileged to share in his life; and
 WHEREAS, He was a devoted and loving son and brother, and
 he leaves behind memories that will be treasured forever by his
 family and many friends; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th
 Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
 family of Whitney Cotton; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
 his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
 Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
 memory of Whitney Cotton.
