| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | commemorates the life of Patricia Fitzsimmons Gray, who died |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | April 2, 2015, at the age of 82; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Patricia Fitzsimmons was born on June 28, 1932, in |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Chicago, Illinois, and she spent much of her youth in Idaho |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | Springs, a mining town in the Colorado Rocky Mountains; she |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | graduated from Denver East High School and Philadelphia Modeling |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | and Charm School; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, She married West Point Cadet Stanley M. Umstead |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | when she was 19 years old, and his many deployments as an officer |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | in the United States Air Force allowed them to travel the world; |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | she found much fulfilment on their travels, as she embraced each |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | deployment as a new opportunity to learn about other cultures; |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Patricia and Stanley were blessed with five daughters, who were |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | each a source of immense pride and joy; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, After Stanley's passing, she married Major |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | General David L. Gray, and they settled in Melbourne, Florida, |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | where they enjoyed golfing and spending time with old and new |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | friends; after his passing in 2006, she continued to fill her |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | days in the company of good friends, and she also spent time |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | painting; and |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | WHEREAS, Mrs. Gray was a loving wife, mother, and |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | grandmotherwhohadajoyousspiritandwasknownforlivingeach |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | day to the fullest; she was respected and admired by many, and she |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | leaves behind memories that will long be cherished by all who |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | were privileged to share in her life; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | family of Patricia Fitzsimmons Gray; and, be it further |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |

| 35 | 35 | | her family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas |

| 36 | 36 | | Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in |
