SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 585
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize the Houston Chapter of Top Ladies of Distinction,
Incorporated, on the occasion of its 50th anniversary; and
WHEREAS, Throughout its history, the Houston Chapter has
worked diligently to carry out the traditional Top Ladies of
Distinction mission; the mission centers on enhancing and
enriching the lives of young people and adults by offering a
range of national programs and community-based projects; and
WHEREAS, To celebrate its 50th anniversary, the chapter is
sponsoring an array of events throughout the year, including the
Founders Day Luncheon, which is being held May 17, 2015; the
theme for this year's luncheon is "Houston Chapter Celebrating 50
Years of Service--Forging Towards the Future"; and
WHEREAS, The Houston Chapter has had exceptional success
in administering the Top Teens of America program, the Community
Partnerships program, the Status of Women program, the Community
Beautification program, and the Senior Citizens program; and
WHEREAS, The dedicated members of this distinguished
organization have had a profound impact on the fabric of life for
many of Houston's citizens, and it is truly fitting that they
receive special recognition for their hard work and commitment to
public service; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th
Legislature, hereby commend the members of the Houston Chapter of
Top Ladies of Distinction, Incorporated, on their outstanding
work in support of the community and extend to all best wishes for
a memorable 50th anniversary celebration; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
the chapter as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
