4	4	Kevin Cardoza
5	5	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the citizens
6	6	of Edcouch in mourning the loss of Specialist Kevin Cardoza, who
7	7	died May 4, 2013, at the age of 19; and
8	8	WHEREAS, Kevin Cardoza was born on August 26, 1993, to
9	9	Ramiro Cardoza Sr. and Maria Cardoza; he graduated from
10	10	Edcouch-Elsa High School in 2011, and he soon thereafter enlisted
11	11	in the United States Army; and
12	12	WHEREAS, Specialist Cardoza was a patriotic young soldier
13	13	who made the ultimate sacrifice for his nation while stationed in
14	14	Afghanistan; he will forever be remembered for the courage he
15	15	showed in fighting on behalf of his country and for his
16	16	dedication to the principle of freedom for all; and
17	17	WHEREAS, He was a loving son, brother, and grandson, and he
18	18	was the proud father of two daughters, who were a source of
19	19	immense pride and joy; and
20	20	WHEREAS, Specialist Cardoza was a true hero and was
21	21	respected throughout his community; he was beloved by many, and
22	22	he leaves behind memories that will long be cherished by all who
23	23	were privileged to share in his life; now, therefore, be it
24	24	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th
25	25	Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
26	26	family of Specialist Kevin Cardoza; and, be it further
27	27	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
28	28	his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
29	29	Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
30	30	memory of Kevin Cardoza.
