SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 590
In Memory
of
Kevin Cardoza
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the citizens
of Edcouch in mourning the loss of Specialist Kevin Cardoza, who
died May 4, 2013, at the age of 19; and
WHEREAS, Kevin Cardoza was born on August 26, 1993, to
Ramiro Cardoza Sr. and Maria Cardoza; he graduated from
Edcouch-Elsa High School in 2011, and he soon thereafter enlisted
in the United States Army; and
WHEREAS, Specialist Cardoza was a patriotic young soldier
who made the ultimate sacrifice for his nation while stationed in
Afghanistan; he will forever be remembered for the courage he
showed in fighting on behalf of his country and for his
dedication to the principle of freedom for all; and
WHEREAS, He was a loving son, brother, and grandson, and he
was the proud father of two daughters, who were a source of
immense pride and joy; and
WHEREAS, Specialist Cardoza was a true hero and was
respected throughout his community; he was beloved by many, and
he leaves behind memories that will long be cherished by all who
were privileged to share in his life; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th
Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
family of Specialist Kevin Cardoza; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
memory of Kevin Cardoza.
