| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize George L. Gonzales, who retired from the Webb County |
|---|
| 4 | 4 | | office of the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service on March 27, |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | 2015; and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Gonzales served as a county-based extension |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | educator for more than 34 years; after four years of service as an |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | assistant county extension agent in Bee County, he was promoted |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | to the position of county extension agent for Webb County |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | Agriculture and Natural Resources; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, During his tenure, he earned the highest rank of |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | an AgriLife Extension agent; he co-authored 63 research |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | demonstration reports, and as a result of his exceptional work as |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | an agent, numerous educational programs and initiatives to |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | improve the quality of life in Texas were created; he was the |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | first Webb County extension agent to receive the Regents Fellow |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Service Award from the Texas A&M University System Board of |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Regents; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, An accomplished educator and media communicator, |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Mr. Gonzales served as the county extension coordinator for Webb |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | County, and he gained the respect of numerous local elected |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | officials; and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | WHEREAS, He exemplified the best in county extension |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | education, and he instilled the highest level of professionalism |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | in the many agents he helped train; his presence at the Webb |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | County Extension Office will be greatly missed; now, therefore, |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | be it |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | Legislature, hereby commend George L. Gonzales on his dedication |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | to his work with the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service and on |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | his many contributions to the state and extend to him best wishes |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | for the future; and, be it further |

| 33 | 33 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
