SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 595 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize Robbie Williams on the grand occasion of her 90th birthday; and WHEREAS, A woman of charm and grace, Mrs. Williams is well known for her generosity of spirit, and she is a beloved citizen of Austin; and WHEREAS, Robbie Williams was born on July 21, 1925, and she grew up in the Center Union and Winchester communities near Smithville; and WHEREAS, She moved to Austin more than 70 years ago to attend school and find work; instead, however, she found love when she met Clarence Williams, and the couple enjoyed 48 years of marriage together until his passing in 1992; their daughter, Carroll Brown, grandsons, Chris and Clint, and great-granddaughters, Charlize and Camdyn, have been a source of much pride and joy for her; and WHEREAS, A devout Christian who practices her faith in her daily life, Mrs. Williams is a longtime member of Greater Mount Zion Baptist Church; and WHEREAS, Mrs. Williams has lived through times and experienced events that many people only know through history books, and there is much to be learned from the wisdom she has gained over the years; and WHEREAS, A beloved and respected member of her community, Robbie Williams is noted for her warmth and wise counsel, and she inspires those around her with her enthusiasm for living each day to the fullest; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th Legislature, hereby pay tribute to Robbie Williams and extend to her best wishes for a memorable 90th birthday celebration; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her as a memento of this milestone in her life.
