| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the citizens |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | of Brownsville in mourning the loss of Encarnacion Manzano |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | Cuellar Jr., who died March 17, 2015, at the age of 76; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Encarnacion M. Cuellar Jr. was a 1957 graduate of |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Brownsville High School who was respected throughout the |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | community for his kindness and his many accomplishments; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, He attended Texas Southmost College, and he |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | served his country with honor and distinction during the Berlin |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Crisis; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Cuellar managed the Charro Drive-In Theatre from |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | 1966 until 1980, and he later owned and operated El Charro |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Restaurant for more than a decade; he also worked for Philip |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Morris, Incorporated, and Acosta, Incorporated, as a merchandising |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | representative; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, A loving husband, father, and grandfather, he |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | cherished his family above all things and guided them in |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | accordance with his Christian faith; he was beloved by many, and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | he leaves behind memories that will long be cherished by all who |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | were privileged to share in his life; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | family of Encarnacion Manzano Cuellar Jr.; and, be it further |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in |
