| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Dr. Linda Henrie, who is retiring from her position as |
|---|
| 4 | 4 | | superintendent of the Mesquite Independent School District after |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | 43 years of outstanding service to the district; and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Henrie began her career with the district by |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | serving as a teacher at Mesquite High School in 1967; she became |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | an assistant principal at Vanston Middle School in 1986 and soon |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | began ascending the ranks of administrative leadership; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, She served as the administrative officer for |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Curriculum Development, assistant superintendent of |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | Instructional Services, and deputy superintendent of schools |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | before taking on the role of superintendent of schools in 2005; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Throughout her career, Dr. Henrie has remained |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | active in numerous professional and community organizations; she |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | served as president of the Association for Supervision and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Curriculum Development for two years, and her belief in the value |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | of community partnerships and her work as a member and chairman |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | of the Mesquite Chamber of Commerce helped position the district |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | for its long-term success; and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Linda Henrie has been recognized for educational |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | and administrative excellence at the local, state, and national |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | levels; she is a true leader in her field, and her presence with |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | the Mesquite Independent School District will be greatly missed; |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Legislature, hereby commend Dr. Linda Henrie on her exceptional |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | career with the Mesquite Independent School District and extend |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | to her best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. |
