| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | commemorates the life of Sarah Enriquez Garcia, who died February |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | 16, 2015, at the age of 45; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Sarah Garcia was an exemplary citizen who was |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | widely admired in the El Paso community for her volunteerism and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | her many achievements; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, Sarah was a graduate of Burges High School; she |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | was married to the love of her life, the late Charlie Garcia, and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | she was devoted to her stepson, Michael Garcia; in 2008, she was |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | diagnosed with multiple sclerosis; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Mrs. Garcia served the state with distinction as |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | an employee of the Division of Workers' Compensation in the Texas |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Department of Insurance and as a staff member for Senator Eliot |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Shapleigh; she was a tireless volunteer with the National |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Multiple Sclerosis Society and the El Paso Multiple Sclerosis |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Association, and she helped her husband organize the first local |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | multiple sclerosis golf tournament; and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | WHEREAS, A woman of courage, strength, and compassion, she |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | gave unselfishly to others, and her generous spirit and her |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | enthusiasm for living each day to the fullest will not be |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | forgotten; and |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | WHEREAS, She was a devoted daughter, wife, and stepmother, |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | and she leaves behind memories that will be treasured forever by |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | all who were privileged to share in her life; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | family of Sarah Enriquez Garcia; and, be it further |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |

| 33 | 33 | | her family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas |

| 34 | 34 | | Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in |
