11 SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 692
22 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
33 recognize Captain B. F. Wade for his 65 years of outstanding law
44 enforcement service; and
55 WHEREAS, A native Texan, B. F. Wade graduated from Savoy
66 High School in 1944 and enlisted in the United States Navy; he
77 served with distinction aboard the USS White Plains during World
88 War II; and
99 WHEREAS, After the war, he served as a member of the
1010 Sherman Police Department before joining the Texas Department of
1111 Public Safety as a state trooper in 1951; during the course of his
1212 30-year career with the department, Captain Wade served in
1313 Grayson and Fannin Counties, and he accepted postings in Midland
1414 and Harlingen; he retired as a commander in Beaumont in 1984; and
1515 WHEREAS, Following his retirement, he became a special
1616 ranger, and in 1988, he was appointed bailiff for the 59th
1717 District Court; in 1992, he became a police officer at Grayson
1818 College, where he has served for 23 years and is well-loved by
1919 students and staff; and
2020 WHEREAS, After more than six decades of law enforcement
2121 service, this octogenarian has a wealth of experience and is a
2222 valued public servant; he is a recipient of the rare Dinosaur
2323 Award given by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement, and his
2424 exemplary career serves as an inspiration to many; now,
2525 therefore, be it
2626 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th
2727 Legislature, hereby commend Captain B. F. Wade on his exceptional
2828 65-year career in the field of law enforcement and extend to him
2929 best wishes for the future; and, be it further
3030 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
3131 him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
