| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Captain B. F. Wade for his 65 years of outstanding law |
|---|
| 4 | 4 | | enforcement service; and |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, A native Texan, B. F. Wade graduated from Savoy |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | High School in 1944 and enlisted in the United States Navy; he |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | served with distinction aboard the USS White Plains during World |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | War II; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, After the war, he served as a member of the |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | Sherman Police Department before joining the Texas Department of |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Public Safety as a state trooper in 1951; during the course of his |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | 30-year career with the department, Captain Wade served in |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Grayson and Fannin Counties, and he accepted postings in Midland |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | and Harlingen; he retired as a commander in Beaumont in 1984; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Following his retirement, he became a special |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | ranger, and in 1988, he was appointed bailiff for the 59th |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | District Court; in 1992, he became a police officer at Grayson |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | College, where he has served for 23 years and is well-loved by |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | students and staff; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, After more than six decades of law enforcement |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | service, this octogenarian has a wealth of experience and is a |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | valued public servant; he is a recipient of the rare Dinosaur |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Award given by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement, and his |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | exemplary career serves as an inspiration to many; now, |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | therefore, be it |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Legislature, hereby commend Captain B. F. Wade on his exceptional |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | 65-year career in the field of law enforcement and extend to him |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. |
