| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, This outstanding event is sponsored by the |

| 6 | 6 | | Cutting Edge Action Research Center, which conducts research in |

| 7 | 7 | | schools, communities, and nonprofit organizations and works to |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | promote college readiness, career development, social justice, |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | and global citizenship; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, The Cutting Edge Youth Summit features a wide |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | range of seminars and workshops for students and includes |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | sessions for parents, community leaders, and local citizens; |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | topics offered for discussion include financial aid, the college |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | application process, and the importance of being a global |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | scholar; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, The Cutting Edge Youth Summit helps students gain |

| 17 | 17 | | the skills they need to become leaders in their schools and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | communities, and it is truly deserving of special recognition; |

| 19 | 19 | | now, therefore, be it |

| 20 | 20 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th |

| 21 | 21 | | Legislature, hereby commend the organizers of the Cutting Edge |
