11 SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 709
22 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
33 recognize the Cutting Edge Youth Summit hosted by the University
44 of North Texas at Dallas on April 18, 2015; and
55 WHEREAS, This outstanding event is sponsored by the
66 Cutting Edge Action Research Center, which conducts research in
77 schools, communities, and nonprofit organizations and works to
88 promote college readiness, career development, social justice,
99 and global citizenship; and
1010 WHEREAS, The Cutting Edge Youth Summit features a wide
1111 range of seminars and workshops for students and includes
1212 sessions for parents, community leaders, and local citizens;
1313 topics offered for discussion include financial aid, the college
1414 application process, and the importance of being a global
1515 scholar; and
1616 WHEREAS, The Cutting Edge Youth Summit helps students gain
1717 the skills they need to become leaders in their schools and
1818 communities, and it is truly deserving of special recognition;
1919 now, therefore, be it
2020 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th
2121 Legislature, hereby commend the organizers of the Cutting Edge
2222 Youth Summit on their commitment to promoting academic
2323 excellence and extend to all associated with this exceptional
2424 event best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
2525 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared in
2626 honor of the Cutting Edge Youth Summit.
