                            SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 709
 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
 recognize the Cutting Edge Youth Summit hosted by the University
 of North Texas at Dallas on April 18, 2015; and
 WHEREAS, This outstanding event is sponsored by the
 Cutting Edge Action Research Center, which conducts research in
 schools, communities, and nonprofit organizations and works to
 promote college readiness, career development, social justice,
 and global citizenship; and
 WHEREAS, The Cutting Edge Youth Summit features a wide
 range of seminars and workshops for students and includes
 sessions for parents, community leaders, and local citizens;
 topics offered for discussion include financial aid, the college
 application process, and the importance of being a global
 scholar; and
 WHEREAS, The Cutting Edge Youth Summit helps students gain
 the skills they need to become leaders in their schools and
 communities, and it is truly deserving of special recognition;
 now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th
 Legislature, hereby commend the organizers of the Cutting Edge
 Youth Summit on their commitment to promoting academic
 excellence and extend to all associated with this exceptional
 event best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared in
 honor of the Cutting Edge Youth Summit.
