| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | citizens of Austin in mourning the loss of Joann Curran Zaleski, |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | who died April 21, 2015, at the age of 63; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Joann Curran was born on January 12, 1952, in |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Abilene, and she graduated from Rider High School in Wichita |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | Falls in 1970; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, She earned a degree in design from the University of |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | North Texas and worked for a time in fashion merchandising before |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | enrolling at The University of Texas at Austin, where she earned a |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | degree in early childhood education and a teaching certificate; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, She shared 29 years of marriage with Peter |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Zaleski, and they were blessed with two daughters and a grandson |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | who were a source of immense pride and joy; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Mrs. Zaleski was dedicated to her work as a |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | prekindergarten teacher at Zavala Elementary School for 32 |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | years; she cared deeply for her students, many of whom benefited |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | from her personal assistance in times of need, and she was known |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | as a source of support and guidance to her colleagues; and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | WHEREAS, Joann Zaleski was respected and admired for her |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | outstanding career as a teacher and for her many contributions to |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | the community; she leaves behind memories that will long be |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | cherished by all who were privileged to share in her life; now, |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | therefore, be it |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | family of Joann Curran Zaleski; and, be it further |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | her family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in |

| 34 | 34 | | memory of Joann Zaleski. |
