| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Paul Hill for his outstanding work as an intern in the |

| 4 | 4 | | office of Senator Royce West during the 84th Legislative Session; and |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Paul Hill is a student at The University of Texas |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | School of Law; he is a highly motivated student who has |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | contributed to the Texas Journal on Civil Liberties and Civil |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | Rights, and he serves as treasurer of OUTlaw; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Before interning for the legislature, Paul gained |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | extensive experience by serving as a legal clerk for several |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | organizations that assist underserved populations; his work |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | included clerking for the Civil Rights Clinic at The University |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | of Texas School of Law; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, As a legislative intern, Paul wrote talking |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | points for the senator and acquired practical knowledge of the |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | governmental process by performing research and bill analysis on |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | law and policy in important subject areas; he gained insight on |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | numerous issues by meeting with constituents, interest groups, |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | and local leaders; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Paul exceeded expectations throughout his |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | internship, and his experience will be of great benefit as he |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | continues on his path of academic and career success; now, |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | therefore, be it |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Legislature, hereby commend Paul Hill for his many contributions |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | to the office of Senator Royce West as a legislative intern and |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | extend to him best wishes for the future; and, be it further |

| 28 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
