                            SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 725
 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
 recognize Paul Hill for his outstanding work as an intern in the
 office of Senator Royce West during the 84th Legislative Session; and
 WHEREAS, Paul Hill is a student at The University of Texas
 School of Law; he is a highly motivated student who has
 contributed to the Texas Journal on Civil Liberties and Civil
 Rights, and he serves as treasurer of OUTlaw; and
 WHEREAS, Before interning for the legislature, Paul gained
 extensive experience by serving as a legal clerk for several
 organizations that assist underserved populations; his work
 included clerking for the Civil Rights Clinic at The University
 of Texas School of Law; and
 WHEREAS, As a legislative intern, Paul wrote talking
 points for the senator and acquired practical knowledge of the
 governmental process by performing research and bill analysis on
 law and policy in important subject areas; he gained insight on
 numerous issues by meeting with constituents, interest groups,
 and local leaders; and
 WHEREAS, Paul exceeded expectations throughout his
 internship, and his experience will be of great benefit as he
 continues on his path of academic and career success; now,
 therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th
 Legislature, hereby commend Paul Hill for his many contributions
 to the office of Senator Royce West as a legislative intern and
 extend to him best wishes for the future; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
 him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
