| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize the Flower Mound Police and Fire Departments and all |

| 4 | 4 | | volunteers who are contributing to the Backing the Badge event |

| 5 | 5 | | taking place on June 13, 2015; and |

| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Backing the Badge is an all-day event organized by |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | the Flower Mound Summit Club and the Women of Flower Mound to give |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | residents the opportunity to thank the employees and volunteers |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | of the police and fire departments; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, The event kicks off with a five-kilometer fun run |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | and then continues at Jake's Hilltop Park, where families can |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | enjoy live entertainment, children's activities, vendor booths, |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | and an array of food trucks in addition to the featured softball |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | game between the police and fire departments; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Flower Mound Police and Fire |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Departments are committed to ensuring the safety and security of |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | residents, and they risk their own lives to do so; the community |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | benefits immensely from their efforts, and the Backing the Badge |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | event is an excellent opportunity for residents to express |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | gratitude for the hard work and dedication of their first |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | responders; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Legislature, hereby commend the employees and volunteers of the |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Flower Mound Police and Fire Departments for their many |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | contributions to the community and extend to all residents best wishes |

| 26 | 26 | | for a successful Backing the Badge celebration; and, be it further |
