11 SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 740
22 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
33 recognize the Flower Mound Police and Fire Departments and all
44 volunteers who are contributing to the Backing the Badge event
55 taking place on June 13, 2015; and
66 WHEREAS, Backing the Badge is an all-day event organized by
77 the Flower Mound Summit Club and the Women of Flower Mound to give
88 residents the opportunity to thank the employees and volunteers
99 of the police and fire departments; and
1010 WHEREAS, The event kicks off with a five-kilometer fun run
1111 and then continues at Jake's Hilltop Park, where families can
1212 enjoy live entertainment, children's activities, vendor booths,
1313 and an array of food trucks in addition to the featured softball
1414 game between the police and fire departments; and
1515 WHEREAS, The members of the Flower Mound Police and Fire
1616 Departments are committed to ensuring the safety and security of
1717 residents, and they risk their own lives to do so; the community
1818 benefits immensely from their efforts, and the Backing the Badge
1919 event is an excellent opportunity for residents to express
2020 gratitude for the hard work and dedication of their first
2121 responders; now, therefore, be it
2222 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th
2323 Legislature, hereby commend the employees and volunteers of the
2424 Flower Mound Police and Fire Departments for their many
2525 contributions to the community and extend to all residents best wishes
2626 for a successful Backing the Badge celebration; and, be it further
2727 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared as a
2828 memento of this special event.
